1. Avoid the Heat

If you use a hair dryer to dry and style your hair, try not to use the hottest setting. Heat can be a killer, quickly damaging the strands. The same applies to other hot tools like flat irons.

2. Blow Dry Your Hair Correctly

It isn’t only important to avoid using too much heat. In addition, you should hold the dryer six to eight inches from your hair. Also you should concentrate on pointing the airflow down the hair shaft to prevent the possibility of it frizzing.

3. The Importance of Trimming and Conditioning

If your hair is long, you’re going to need to trim it every six to eight weeks to stop it from splitting (or to get rid of any split ends). It is also important to condition your hair regularly to prevent it from drying out.

A good trick to keep curly hair looking good between salon visits is to revive your hair with dry shampoo. Then all you do is spritz it, and run your fingers through it in the same way as you would if you were pulling it up into a ponytail.

This helps to seal the cuticle, making it more difficult for any moisture to get into the hair follicles – which is usually what causes it to frizz.

This is a great tip for anyone who regularly straightens their hair. Start off using an anti-frizz serum that will create a moisture barrier. Then add a good quality heat protector product that will stop the strands of your hair being damaged when it is styled.  

10. How to Give Body to your Hair

A failsafe method for adding volume to your hair is to spritz a good quality proprietary volumizing spray at the roots when your hair is dry. Then you flip your hair over and blow-dry it. Once it is totally dry, gently smooth your hair with a soft brush to get rid of any stray strands.
